Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-ECONOMICS. Armenia will soon start
supplying electricity to Turkey, Armenian media quoted the country’s
ministry of energy and natural resources as saying.
According to the report, technical issues have been solved and
power supply will be launched as soon as Turkey is ready to receive
electricity.
The supply deal was signed between Armenia’s state-owned High Voltage
Electricity Network company and a privately owned Turkish firm called
UNIT during Turkish President’s visit to Yerevan in September 2008.
Under the agreement, it would take six months to create necessary
infrastructure.
Armenia would initially supply 1.5 billion kilowatts per hour of
electricity to Turkey and the amount would eventually increase to
3.5 billion kilowatts per hour.
