YEREVAN, MARCH 20, NOYAN TAPAN. The 16th sitting of Armenian-Russian
Parliamentary Commission will be held on March 25 in Moscow. Aram
Safarian, Commission’s Armenian Co-chairman, a member of the RA
National Assembly Bargavach Hayastan (Prosperous Armenia) faction,
informed journalists on March 20 that issues regarding cooperation
between Armenian and Russian regions will be discussed at the sitting.
A. Safarian said that Armenian delegation’s staff was enlarged and
currently includes 20 deputies. Thus the number of Armenian deputies
in the Commission has become equal to the number of Russian deputies.
According to A. Safarian, issues related to transportations
between Armenia and Russia, as well as those regarding cargo
transportation will be discussed at the Armenian side’s suggestion at
the Armenian-Russian Parliamentary Commission’s 17th sitting planned to
be held in October in Yerevan. The Armenian side has also come up with
the initiative of making active contacts between the two countries’
NGOs and media representatives.
