Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Baku Appeals Court has considered the
appeal filed by Azerbaijani citizen of Armenian origin Arushanyan
Sevinj Vyacheslavovna. The court told APA that judge Hilal Khalilov
presided over the process. The court rejected the appeal of Sevinj
Arushanyan and upheld the decision of Surakhany district court.

Sevinj Arushanyan appealed to Surakhany district court to change
her surname four years ago. Arushanyan asked the court to pass a
decision to change to her mother’s surname, who is Azerbaijani. The
court rejected her appeal. Sevinj Arushanyan did not file an appeal
against the decision of the court. Some years later, she demanded
an application from the district court to file an appeal. Surakhany
district court did not fulfill her demand saying that the time
allotted to file an appeal expired. Therefore, Sevinj Arushanyan
filed an appeal to court.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
