The Youth Board of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Western
Region will host a symposium of all Armenian youth organizations on
Sunday March 29 at the Pacific Community Center in Glendale, Calif.,
moderated by Glendale City Clerk Ardashes Kassakhian.
The first of its kind, the symposium is expected to draw the
participation of every major Armenian youth organization based in Los
Angeles. The representatives of participating organizations will share
their thoughts and concerns about cultural preservation, political
activism, education and social issues facing Armenian American youth
today in the United States.
"The intention of this symposium is to bring together the leading
Armenian organizations in tune with the needs and realities of the
Armenian youth today and to start a dialogue about how to contribute
to the advancement of the coming generation of young Armenians within
our respective organizations," said ARF Youth Board chairman Mico
Melkonian.
The organizations attending the symposium include the ACYO, AYF, AGBU
Young Professionals, UYA, ARF Badanegan Organization, Armenian
Evangelical Youth Fellowship, Alpha Epsilon Omega Foundation, Gaidz
Youth Organization, UAS, Homenetmen, All-ASA, Homenmen,
ANC-Professional Network, St. Gregory Eluminator Armenian Catholic
Church youth group, AYAC, Alpha Epsilon Omega, and ARF Shant Student
Association.
Initiated in 2007, the ARF Western Region Youth Board is an entity of
the region’s Central Committee. One of the primary goals of the board
is to offer members of the AYF, ARF Badanegan and Armenian youth at
large education, guidance and assistance to better serve and lead our
community.
