GAME-TRAINING ON RENDERING OF ASSISTANCE TO THOSE SUFFERED FROM EARTHQUAKE HELD IN ARZNI GORGE

ArmInfo. Game-training INSARAG (International Search and Rescue
Advisory Group) on rendering of assistance to those suffered from
earthquake will be held on March 24-26 in Arzni gorge, the press
service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia
told ArmInfo.
The event has been organized by joint efforts of the Rescue Service
of Armenia’s MES and UN Armenia Office.
The training has been intended for all the constituents of response
coordination which are necessary for the country suffered from
the natural disaster. The training aims at enhancing the level of
awareness of the state administration bodies about the methods of
response by INSARAG to the natural disasters, as well as testing the
coordination and cooperation of the international and national rescue
services during earthquakes.
Representatives of 22 countries, different UN agencies, as well as
international organizations will take part in the game-training.
To note, according to the training scenario, earthquake of magnitude
7,5 happened in Lori region the number of victims of which may
reach 9600 people. The government of Armenia announced an emergency
situation and applied to the international organizations for assistance
having simultaneously noted the necessity of organizing the municipal
search-and-rescue groups.
