Gishyan was honored with the French Order of Merit for contribution
to the development of the Armenian-French relations.
"Stepan Gishyan is France’s friend. He assists in French University
activities and participates in events our Embassy organizes," said
Serge Smessov, the French Ambassador to Armenia.
For his part, Mr. Gishyan said that the award was unexpected but
pleasant.
