STEPS UNDERTAKEN TO REGULATE PRICES IN MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENTS

YEREVAN, MARCH 27, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Health Ministry is undertaking
steps towards the regulation of prices in medical institutions and
non-medical services.
Head of the Health Ministry’s Mother and Child Health Protection
Department Karine Saribekian told Armenpress that the steps are
directed towards establishing a top price limit which will make the
services more available and will be based on objective standards.
She said that with the decree of the Armenian Health Minister Harutyun
Kushkian agreements have been signed with medical institutions
providing birth services on "Free hospital and outside hospital
medical services under the state guarantee". The goal of this step
is to ensure social justice, equal conditions for those who pay and
those who do not. K. Saribekian said that by the signed agreement the
medical institutions are obliged not to exceed the established price.
