As expected, Levon Aronyan turned champion in the 10th round of the
"Amber" chess tournament in the match against his Chinese opponent
Vang Yu with a score of 13 points.
Levon won Vang Yu in the first round based on rules and regulations
of the "Kuyr" chess tournament and tied the match in the fast chess
round. Aronyan scored high with 1.5:0.5. Magnus Carlson and Vishvanata
Anand were in the lead before this, but they didn’t win any matches
in the 10th round.
Indian chess player Anand lost 0.5:1.5 to Russian grosmeister
Alexander Morozevich and progress was registered only in the "Kuyr"
round. Norwegian Magnus Carlson lost to leading chess player of the
Russian team Vladimir Kramkin. Anand and Carlson currently hold 2nd
and 3rd.
There is only one round left in the tournament. Aronyan will go
against Bulgarian Veselin Topalov in the 11th final round and even in
the event of a tie, the Armenian chess player will stay on top. Anand
will face-off with Vang Yu, while Carlson will play with Azeri Rajabov.
