"It’s not natural to have closed borders in 21st century," said
Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Karine Ghazinyan in a joint press
conference with the State Minister of Germany Gernot Erler. According
to her there are many countries in the world to have problems with
their neighbors but those problems are resolved through negotiations
and discussions.

"Today Turkey and Armenia follow the right path; they should hold
dialogues and open the borders and continue the discussions over the
common problems though the negotiations," said the Deputy Foreign
Minister.

The State Minister of Germany said he was sure open borders correspond
to the interests of the both parties.

"Opening the closed borders world financial crisis would be much
better overcome. It is og great significance to create diplomatic
co-operation between the parties," said Mr. Erler.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia and the State Minister of Germany
have also discussed Armenian-Turkish relations during their meeting.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
