ARMENIAN COMMUNITY OF SYRIA CONCERNED WITH TURKISH TV SERIALS

ALEPPO, MARCH 31, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. The Armenian
community of Syria expressed concern with the show of Turkish TV
serials increasing day by day in the country.
According to Turkish media, Nora Arisian, one of the prominent
representatives of Armenian community of Syria, voiced strict criticism
on the issue.
"Turkish TV serials have started influencing the Armenian families
equally to the Armenian Genocide and leaving incurable wounds on the
Armenian consciousness," Nora Arisian stated.
Turkish media, in its turn, touching upon the activity of the Armenian
youth organization of Syria mentioned that the latter is concerned with
the noticed rapprochement in Turkish-Syrian relations. A 2009 calendar
was published with the youth organization’s efforts, on which a map
of Erzrum, Kars, Van, Ararat is depicted. And calendar’s first page
presents the photographs of President of Syria Bashar Asad and leader
of Armenian Apostolic Church Berio Diocese Archbishop Shahan Sargsian.
