Tashnaq MP Hagop Pakradounian said that the Armenians in Lebanon
represent the "most valuable political and popular supporters of the
President," Michel Sleiman.

In an interview with Al- Osboa Al-Arabi magazine to be published on
Friday, Pakradounian said that "deliberations with Free Patriotic
Movement MP Michel Aoun were meant to avoid fierce electoral battles
in Metn, Beirut I and Zahle."

"Our alliances are set with the Free Patriotic Movement and with MP
Michel al-Murr in Metn."

He said that the Armenian candidates were chosen according to their
history and ability to play a significant role in the political and
public arena.

He also said he hoped dialogue would continue among the parties so
the tension of the electoral battles could be diffused.

"Everyone should share the desire to make the electoral competition
more democratic, and to show the democratic face that the world waits
to see here," the MP added.
