/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Dmitry Medvedev signed three laws on ratifying
agreements concluded within the Collective Security Treaty
Organisation, ISRIA reports.
The first agreement between the Russian Federation and the Collective
Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) stipulates the conditions for the
Organisation’s headquarters’ presence on Russian soil. It was signed
in Moscow on November 26, 2007.
The second agreement regulates the provision under preferential
terms of special equipment and supplies for the CSTO countries’
law enforcement agencies and intelligence services.
The third agreement sets out the procedures for operational deployment,
use of and comprehensive support for the Collective Rapid Reaction
Force in the Central Asian collective security region. The agreement,
signed in Minsk on June 23, 2006, sets out the legal provisions
for the force’s command, functioning, operational deployment and
comprehensive support.
The Collective Rapid Reaction Force in Central Asia was established
in 2001. It is integrated as a regional sub-system into the overall
CSTO collective security system. The Collective Security Treaty
Organisation members are Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
