The Azerbaijani-Turkish concept of ‘one people-two states’ is in a
state of agony, Armenian political expert, Director of the Armenian
Center for National and International Studies Richard Giragosyan said
at today’s press-conference. He thinks this is related to the latest
progress in the Armenian-Turkish relations, that is unprofitable for
the ‘junior’ brother of Turkey – Azerbaijan.
According to the political expert, there will be no serious changes in
the Armenian- Turkish relations just after April 24, however, they will
take place at late, 2009. ‘The Armenian-Turkish relations will develop
in 4 directions: opening of the border, establishment of diplomatic
relations, creation of an intergovernmental commission for solution
of different issues, including the cultural and historical ones,
as well as adoption of a document by Turkey in the form of a "road
map" on Karabakh conflict settlement’, R. Giragosyan said. However,
he added, the probability of creation of such a document is only his
opinion and there are no official versions in this respect.
According to R. Giragosyan, no matter in what direction the events
develop, the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan will never be
like before.
