AMBASSADOR OF HUNGARY HANDS COPY OF HIS CREDENTIALS TO RA FOREIGN MINISTER

Gabor Shagi, the newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to Armenia
(residence Tbilisi), handed the copy of his credentials to RA
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on April 8. In his conversation
following the ceremony E. Nalbandian said that Armenia is interested
in development of Armenian-Hungarian relations. The Minister expressed
the hope that G. Shagi’s appointment will contribute to deepening
and expansion of the two countries’ mutually beneficial cooperation.

According to the report of the RA Foreign Ministry Press and
Information Department, G. Shagi emphasized that Hungary intends to
further strengthen cooperation with Armenia in bilateral and many-sided
formats. The Ambassador said that there is a serious potential for
development of trade and economic and cultural contacts.

Gabor Shagi was born in 1955 in Budapest. He graduated from
Budapest Economic University. From 1978 he took various posts in the
Hungarian Foreign Ministry central staff and in foreign diplomatic
representations. In 2006-2008 he was Ambassador of Hungary in Kenya
(also pluralistically in Uganda and Ethiopia). In 2008 he was appointed
Ambassador of Hungary to Georgia. He masters English. He is married,
has two children.
