US, AZERI PRESIDENTS DISCUSSED TURKISH-ARMENIAN RELATIONS BY PHONE

Baku, 8 April: US President Barack Obama phoned Azerbaijani President
Ilham Aliyev on 7 April.

During a sincere conversation, the presidents expressed their
satisfaction with successful development of Azerbaijani-US bilateral
relations in various fields. The presidents discussed the settlement
of the Nagornyy Karabakh conflict, cooperation in energy sector and
regional security issues.

The US president spoke about steps taken by his country regarding
[the improvement of] Turkish-Armenian relations. The Azerbaijani
president expressed Azerbaijan’s position on the matter.

Views were exchanged on a number of issues of mutual interest.
