"This was a year of great changes in the world, the region and Armenia.

A number of serious problems and challenges emerged, which require
new approaches. The most important is that we managed to deepen the
relations with friends and partners, to launch dialogue with Turkey. I
think the negotiations on the Nagorno Karabakh issue also intensified,"
the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview with
the Russian Vesti Channel.

According to President Sargsyan, a number of large-scale infrastructure
projects were worked out, the implementation of which will seriously
alter the economic situation in the region.

"I think we managed to implement new elements in the political
life of our country. We periodically consult and negotiate with
non-parliamentary forces," Serzh Sargsyan said, summing up the first
year of his presidency
