Opera singer Artak Kirakosyan to continue his treatment in Germany

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Opera singer Artak Kirakosyan sustained spinal
column injury in May 2008 accident. Within recent 11 months the singer
was undergoing the fist stage of his treatment.

Artak Kirakosyan will leave for Germany to undergo medical examination
and receive further treatment. Founder of Kohar ensemble Harutyun
Khatchatryan will cover expenses for further rehabilitation of the
singer.
At today’s news conference Artak Kirakossyan expressed his gratitude
to cultural and political workers of Armenia, who organized to
charitable arrangements to collect means for treatment.
Within the last 3 months, 3 charity concerts had been organized in
Yerevan and Gyumri, that allowed to collect 60% of the sum necessary
for the first step of treatment.
When questioned by PanARMENIAN.NET reporter if he intends to continue
with singing, Artak Kirakosyan responded that singing was the first
thing he did after he came to consciousness.
He said he will not give up and believes he’ll be able to return to
the scene after his recovery.

In the evening of May 26, 2008 a concert rehearsal dedicated to the
Day of the First Republic was going on. Because of sudden wind, the
metallic construction with lighting fixtures crashed down on children
and Artak Kirakossyan, who was badly injured along with a young girl.
The girl died as a result of injuries received, 26-year old Artak
Kirakosyan has injured his spinal column.
