DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN TO VISIT ARMENIA

Mahmud Mammadguliyev will visit Armenia.
Mammadguliyev told APA that the aim of the visit is to attend the
20th meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Black Sea
Economic Cooperation Organization that will be held in Yerevan on
April 16. No bilateral meetings will be held within the framework of
the meeting. Mahmud Mammadguliyev said all points of the cooperation,
as well as the causes impeding the cooperation in the region will be
discussed at the meeting.
BSEC Foreign Ministers will discuss increasing the efficiency
of the organization’s activity by deepening regional cooperation,
implementing joint regional projects in the spheres of transport and
energy, exchange views to reduce the impact of the global financial
and economic crisis on the member states.
The prospects of the mutual cooperation between BSEC and the
European Union are expected to be discussed at the meeting. At
the end of the meeting Armenia will hand over BSEC chairmanship to
Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan will officially take over BSEC chairmanship
from Armenia on May 1 and will hold this post by October 31.
