FRESNO, Calif., April 13 — California State University Fresno issued
the following press release:

Dr. George Bournoutian, Henry S. Khanzadian Kazan Visiting Professor
of Armenian Studies at Fresno State, will speak on "The Armenian
Church in South Asia: 1600-1800," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April
21. The lecture will be held in Room 191 of the University Business
Center in the Peters Business Building. Parking is available after
7 p.m. in the UBC Lot and Lot J. The free lecture is the final
presentation in a series entitled "The Armenian Church Under Foreign
Rule." Bournoutian will discuss the role of the Armenian Church
in South Asia, including Singapore, India, and China. Bournoutian
has done extensive work in translating primary sources of Armenian
Church history from Russian into Armenian. He has taught Eastern
European and Middle Eastern history at Iona College since 1989 and
is the author of 17 books and dozens of articles in journals and
