"Spirit of Survival" Photograph Exhibit

Guests are invited to a cocktail reception featuring Project SAVE
Armenian Photograph Archives’ "Spirit of Survival" Exhibit.

Ruth Thomasian, Founder and Executive Director of Project SAVE
Archives, will give a brief talk on the history behind the photographs
shown in the exhibit.

This exhibit, sponsored by the Bergen Community College Peace, Jutice
and Reconciliation Center and provided by Project SAVE Armenian
Photograph Archives, chronicles the Armenian people in the late 19th
and early 20th centuries in the Ottoman and Russian empires, and then
later in Soviet Armenia and the Diaspora. It features 40 large
photographs with text documenting Armenians’ life before, during, and
after the Genocide when their culture, r eligion, language, and very
existence were threatened.

NOTE: Project SAVE Founder and Executive Director Ruth Thomasian will
also give a talk on April 28 from 2-3 pm at the same location.

The entire exhibition runs from April 25 to May 22, 2009

Gallery hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11 am to 6 pm;
Wednesdays from 11 am to 8 pm; and Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm.

Admission is free and open to the public.
