Azerbaijan and Qatar discussed the cooperation among security agencies
in Baku on April 20.

Azerbaijani National Security Minister lieutenant-general
Eldar Mahmudov received Qatar Internal Ministry National security
Department Director General Saad Jasim Al Khuleifi. Jasim Al Khuleifi
is on a state visit to Azerbaijan. He attends the conference of the
Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) heads of law enforcement
agencies, the National Security Ministry Public Relations Department
said to Trend News.

The Minister noted the need to strengthen cooperation in the share
of information and experiences between the relevant agencies of
Azerbaijan and Qatar, as well as ensuring the security interests of
both countries.

Mahmudov touched upon the efforts preventing organized transnational
crimes, which are closely related to international terrorist
organizations, as well as Azerbaijan’s position as a member of anti
terror coalition. He also informed about the operative condition in the
region, Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, problems,
which were occurred due to uncontrolled territories, illegal migration,
drug trafficking and efforts to remove those problems.

Al Khuleifi said that the meeting has an important meaning to combat
transnational crime and international terrorism, as well as advance
cooperation among adjusted agencies of the two countries. He expressed
satisfaction related to the current relations between Azerbaijan
and Qatar.
