COMMEMORATION CEREMONY OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF ADANA MASSACRE HELD IN AMSTERDAM

Commemoration ceremony of the 100th anniversary of Adana massacre by
Ottoman Turks took place in Amsterdam April 19.
A representative from the "24 April" Committee of the Federation of
Armenian Organizations in the Netherlands – FAON told Armenpress that
an exhibition "Adana – Past and Present" opened within the framework
of the event which presents Armenian buildings and institutions,
which have been perished as a result of the Armenian Genocide. The
Adana massacre took place in April of 1909 during which 20,000 to
30,000 Armenians were killed by Turks.
During the event Ambassador of Armenia to Belgium Vigen Tchitetchian,
researcher at the Centre for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and
professor at the University of Amsterdam Ton Zwaan, member of Socialist
Party faction in the Dutch Parliament Harry van Bommel, director of
the Institute for Diaspora and Genocide Studies at Ruhr University
in Bochum in Germany Mihran Dabag, writer and poet Recep Marasli,
publicist Osman Koker, and director of Centre for Information and
Documentation on Israel (CIDI) Ronny Naftaniel delivered lectures.
On April 24 commemoration ceremony will be held in Assen.
