Armenia’s ArmenTel Telecommunications Company (under the Beeline brand)
is optimizing its tariffs amid the global financial crisis.
"The financial crisis did not affect the company, but we are ready
to optimize our business and enhance our activities," said Gennady
Kalgashkin, ArmenTel’s sales director.
As a socially responsible company, ArmenTel must enable its subscribers
to talk more at the lowest possible discounted prices, he added.
Kalgashkin pointed out the discounted prices for the tariff plans
Talk, Armenians’ World, Favorite Numbers, as well as for tariffs for
fixed-line and mobile services.
"We have undertaken all necessary steps to alleviate the impact of the
crisis on our subscribers, with telecommunication services becoming
one of the basic social services," Kalgashkin said.
According to Anush Begloyan, head of ArmenTel’s Public Relations
Department, the company has lowered the benchmark monthly prices by
2,000 drams.
In April 2007, Russia’s VimpelCom mobile operator (under the Beeline
brand) became the absolute shareholder of ArmenTel Telecommunications
Company. The latter offers both fixed-line telephony services (around
650,000 subscribers) and mobile communication services (over 784,000
subscribers).
