PRESS-SECRETARY OF REPUBLICAN PARTY OF ARMENIA [RPA]: POSITION OF ARMENIAN AUTHORITIES REGARDING TURKEY IS UNCHANGEABLE

ArmInfo. Position of the Armenian authorities regarding Turkey is
unchangeable, i.e. the leadership of the republic in the person of
President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan said
many times that Armenia is ready to establish relations with Turkey
without any pre-condition, press-secretary of RPA, Eduard Sharmazanov,
told ArmInfo correspondent when commenting on the road-map defined
by foreign ministers of Armenia and Turkey.

‘In general we assess the road-map as a regular positive step on the
way of establishment kind neighboring relations between Armenia and
Turkey. We watch this step only in the context of Armenia’s policy
for establishment of the diplomatic relations with Turkey without
any pre-condition’, – he said.

At the same time, Sharmazanov emphasized that Armenia is supported by
several states including the USA. ‘The last statement of US Department
of State has at best expressed that the USA is supporting Armenia’s
policy to establish relations with Ankara without any pre-condition’,
– he concluded.
