SPEAKER OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY HOVIK ABRAHAMYAN MEETS THE PRIME MINISTER OF POLAND

On April 21 the Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan,
who is on an official visit in Warsaw, had a meeting with the Prime
Minister of Poland Mr. Donald Tusk.
During the discussion the sides touched upon the world
financial-economic crisis and its influence on the two
countries. Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan presented the current situation of
the Armenian-Polish parliamentary contacts to the Prime Minister
Mr. Tusk. The Speaker of the National Assembly proposed to create
Armenian-Polish inter-governmental commission in order to boost the
bilateral economic relations and expressed his willingness to promote
the cooperation of executive authorities of the two countries.
The Speaker of the National Assembly and the Prime Minister of Poland
agreed that the Eastern Partnership of the European Union gives new
opportunities for the development of the Armenian-Polish bilateral
cooperation, as well as for the involvement of the European Union in
the South Caucasus region.
On April 22 the delegation headed by the Speaker of the National
Assembly Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan will leave for Krakow, where he will
meet with Malopolska voevoda Mr. Jerzy Miller. It is envisaged that
on the same day the delegation of the National Assembly will visit
Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp memorial-museum.
On April 23 the delegation headed by the National Assembly Mr. Hovik
Abrahamyan will return to Yerevan.
