FRANCE WELCOMES ARMENIA-TURKEY ROADMAP

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of France welcomes the
joint statement of Armenia, Turkey and Switzerland. The Spokesman
for the Ministry issued the following statement:
"France warmly welcomes the joint statement of Turkey, Armenia and
Switzerland on the development of a "roadmap" for normalization of
relations between Ankara and Yerevan. France is hopeful that the new
stage of activity initiated by two of its friendly states, Armenia
and Turkey, will provide an opportunity to demonstrate to the world
that rapprochement is possible via dialogue.
The Armenian-Turkish dialogue is important for peace and security
in the South Caucasus. The question here refers to the concerns of
France and the European Union.
It’s important that this rapprochement contributes to the negotiations
on Nagorno Karabakh. France, which has assumed co-chairmanship of the
Minsk Group alongside the United States and Russia, will continue its
efforts towards a balanced and negotiated solution of the conflict."
