HEALTH MINISTRY OF ARMENIA READY TO TAKE MEASURES TO PREVENT EXPANSION OF SWINE FLU

Health Ministry of Armenia is ready to take measures to prevent
expansion of a swine flu in Armenia.
As the Ministry’s press service told ArmInfo, the measures on fighting
against the virus expansion in Armenia will be finally approved in
the near future. According to the source, strict control will be
carried out in the airport first of all.
The new virus combines a genetic material of the flu of pigs, birds
and human beings. The epidemic "started" in Mexico where the number
of deaths increased to 103 people and over 1 600 people are virus
carriers. Taking into account the scales of the epidemic, the World
Bank has made a decision to extend a credit to Mexico at the rate of
about $200 mln to fight against the virus expansion.
