discussed the current situation in the sphere of the development of
jewelry and gold industry in Armenia.

Focusing on the global economic recession, the Prime Minister
highlighted the importance of undertaking joint efforts towards the
elaboration and implementation of strategies contributing to the
development of the sphere and the establishment of dialogue between
goldsmiths in Armenia and abroad.

In that connection, Mr. Sargsyan touched upon the projects aimed at
creating free economic zones in Armenia and opening an industrial
park in Gyumry. The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of
the negotiations with the Russian Government and ALROSA and "Crystal"
companies.

The meeting participants introduced to the premier their plans for the
coming two years, and exchanged views on business cooperation. The
company owners noted that the above programs might enable Armenia
to become an international centre of gold, diamond and clock-making
industries, opening thousands of workplaces.

They proposed to open an Armenian foundation preparing qualified
human resources in the above mentioned spheres.

Mr. Sargsyan assured the guests that the Government would consider
their questions and proposals, particularly those concerning the
opening of an industrial park in Gyumri. Upon necessity, there will
also be discussions over the other project.
