THE ARMENIAN HENCHAG PARTY SPORTS ASSOCIATION COMMITTEE VISITS HIS HOLINESS
ARAM I
On Tuesday 28 April 2009, the Committee of the Armenian Henchag Party
(Social Democrate) HMM Sports Association visited His Holiness Aram I.
During their conversations the members of the committee informed the
Catholicos of their planned activities in Lebanon and in other countries.
After listening to their plans and thanking them for the information,
Catholicos Aram I encouraged them to cooperate with other Sports
Associations in the Armenian Community, such as HOMENTMEN, the Association
connected with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Party and its affiliate
bodies. He said: "Sports play an important role in promoting cooperation,
team work and mutual respect. Governments, intergovernmental organizations
and non-governmental organizations are promoting sports projects among youth
towards this goal. In addition to physical training, Armenian Sports
Associations should serve as educational tools for strengthening Armenian
collective identity, and preserving national values."
