IRAN CONSIDERING ARMENIAN INVESTMENT AS STRATEGIC

Mehr News Agency cited Mr Arthur Baghdasaryan the secretary of the
National Security Council of Armenia as saying that Iranian investment
in Armenian projects is of strategic importance.
Mr Arthur Baghdasaryan said that Iran’s share of investment in Armenian
projects will reach USD 980 million.
The official pointed out the importance of the Iran & Armenia railway
and said that the project makes the connection of Armenia to other
central Asian countries via Iran possible, adding that it would create
great job opportunities.
The 470 kilometer long Iran & Armenia railway, connecting the border
regions and creating the first rail link between the two countries,
is expected to boost trade relations.
