AROUND 70% OF ARMENIAN CITIZENS FELT FINANCIAL CRISIS IMPACT

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Around 70% of Armenian citizens felt the negative
impact of financial crisis, Economy and Values Research Center stated,
based on public opinion poll results.
Around 44% of the polled households noted reduction in incomes, 15% –
untimely payment of salaries, 11% of the polled found themselves in
forced idle state, and 7% – became unemployed, Economy and Values
Research Center Chairman Manuk Hergnyan told a news conference
in Yerevan.
11-25% of incomes reduction was registered, at that the largest level
of reduction was registered in Yerevan, where 40% of the polled noted
that the incomes of their families have reduced in the range of 26-50%.
Around 80% of the polled entrepreneurs believe that the crisis in
the course of 2009 will become worse. "Only 20% of business entities
were optimistic, believing that the crisis will be overcome soon,"
Hergnyan added.
The poll was conducted among 100 households.
