The leader of the Conservative Party of Armenia, Michael Hairapetyan,
condemns the police assault on oppositionists in Tbilisi on the night
of May 7. "We have been experiencing such assaults in Yerevan since
March 1, 2008," said Michael Hairapetyan.

The leader of the Conservative Party has sent a letter to Georgia’s
President Michael Saakashvili.

"Without intent to intervene in Georgia’s home affairs we announce
that South Caucasus is our common home, hence we voice our sympathy
with the civilized struggle of the Georgian opposition. We support
their demand for your resignation. We are convinced that the Georgian
opposition, for its turn, supports the struggle of Armenian
people. The Georgians have earned the right to have an elected
president and live a free, independent and happy life. Together with
your Armenian counterpart, do not turn the South Caucasus into a
anti-democratic region," says the letter.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
