SERGE SARGSYAN’S MEETINGS IN PRAGUE

On May 7, in the frameworks of the summit of the Eastern Partnership
in Prague, Serge Sargsyan had bilateral meetings with the French Prime
Minister Francois Fillon, the Chancellor of the German Federation
Angela Merkel, the EU Commissioner, responsible for External Relations
and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Valdner as well as
the U.K. foreign minister David Miliband.

As the press office of the Armenian president informs, at the request
of the French Prime minister, Serge Sargsyan presented the process of
the normalization of the Armenian and Turkish relations as well as
that of the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement. Serge Sargsyan noted that the
axis question of the conflict is the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. The
French Prime Minister expressed their willfulness to contribute to the
settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. Francois Fillon commended
and expressed their assistance for the efforts aimed at the
normalization of the Armenian and Turkish relations.

In the course of the meeting with the British foreign minister, Serge
Sargsyan thanked for the assistance which the Great Britain
contributed to Armenia since the independence. The collocutors
attached great importance to the bilateral cooperation as well as to
the multilateral format of the cooperation between the two
countries. Serge Sargsyan and David Miliband exchanged opinions on the
questions relating to the security, stability and peace in the region.

During the meeting with the Chancellor of the German Federation Angela
Merkel and the EU Commissioner, responsible for External Relations and
European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Valdner in the frameworks
of the summit of the Eastern Partnership in Prague, the collocutors
welcomed the efforts aimed to normalize the Armenian and Turkish
relations and said willful to help the process.
