Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) region (BSEC-URTA) opened its
15th meeting in Yerevan. Among the participants are representatives
of Armenia, Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine Turkey, Moldova, Albania,
Romania and Georgia.

RA Minister of Transport and Communications Gurgen Sargsyan made a
welcoming speech at the opening. He made a high appraisal of Armenia’s
chairmanship of the organization.

He reminded the participants of a meeting of the BSEC Ministers of
Transport, which adopted a declaration on the construction of a black
Sea ring road and simplified visa regime for professional drivers.

"It is a happy fact that the Union is holding its meeting to implement
the decisions," Sargsyan said.

The Minister calls for paying attention to the construction of road
infrastructure, unifying the road laws of the BSEC member-states.

Armenia took over BSEC Chairmanship last November and chaired the
organization until April 30, 2009.

Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey
and Ukraine. Among the observer countries are Austria, Belarus,
Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Poland,

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
