/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Turkey’s chamber of commerce is not interested in
opening the Armenian-Turkey border, told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter
representative of Turkey’s chamber of commerce Selcuk Yilmaz at the
15th meeting of the General Assembly of the Union of International
Fright Forwarders Association of BSEC member countries in Yerevan. At
the same time, Armenia will gain most after opening the boarder,
he stated.
According to Turkey’s chamber of commerce representative, it is
difficult to speak about consequences of opening the Armenian-Turkish
border so far, since that issue is of political or social nature. "In
respect to economy, there are no precise data about increase in
turnover or other indicators, since it requires time and detailed
examination of the structure of the trade," he added.
"For both countries opening of the border will secure peace at
first," told the Selcuk Yilmaz. According to him, opening of the
Armenian-Turkish border is a constituent of international law,
therefore Turkey must be obedient to its norms.
