INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE SECURITY AND COOPERATION IN CAUCASIAN REGION AND AROUND IT TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, MAY 13, NOYAN TAPAN. An international conference Security
and Cooperation in the Caucasian Region and Around It will be held
between May 15 to 16 in Yerevan on the initiative of the RA National
Security Council.
Over 40 representatives from 25 countries, Russia, Italy, France,
Great Britain, the Netherlands, Japan, India, Iran, Egypt, Sweden,
Australia, Israel, Poland, China, Vietnam, Turkey, Germany, the U.S.,
Canada, the Ukraine, Estonia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Iraq, as well
as international organizations from the European Union, OSCE, CSTO
will take part in the conference. Armenia’s high-ranking officials,
ambassadors accredited in Armenia will also take part in it.
According to the Press Service of the National Security Council,
the subjects of discussion at the conference will be South Caucasian
security problems in the context of modern European security, issues
of settlement of regional conflicts, energy and transport ways as
a regional security and cooperation factor, fighting international
terrorism, illegal sale of drugs and arms, development of regional
cooperation in the issue of fighting trafficking, provision of
information security in the region.
