IRAN LAUNCHES GAS EXPORTS TO ARMENIA

Baku – APA-ECONOMICS Iran has started pumping 2 million cubic
metres a day to Armenia from May 13c reported EuropeE~Ys BNE portal
().

Under a 20-year contract signed in 2004, the volume of exports could
be increased to 4 million cubic metres a day in 2011, and may be
increased to 6.3 million cubic metres in future.

Armenia will use the gas to generate electricity, some of which will
be delivered back to Iran in exchange for the gas imports.
