"The time has come for us to be fearless, unstoppable and proud. Let
us stand up for our country and have our voices heard on May 31. Let’s
change Armenia by starting with Yerevan," said member of the "Women
for Peace" NGO Armine Obelyan, 20, as she called on her fellow peers
during the demonstration near "Moscow" cinema today.

The demonstration held by the "Women for Peace" NGO was a call for
peace to political parties running in the Yerevan elections for
Council of Elders.

As the initiators of the demonstration stated in their speeches today,
they are especially calling on those who heated things up in the Avan,
Ajapnyak and Kanaker-Zetyun districts.

There were few people participating in the demonstration. One of the
demonstrators said that perhaps it was due to the heat. Let us mention
that the Yerevan municipality had allowed the demonstration and the
"Moscow" cinema administration had not shown resistance.

During the demonstration that lasted an hour and a half, the organizers
stressed that the May 31 elections are going to be the same as the
presidential elections.
