ArmInfo. The German Government’s position on the Karabakh peace
process remains unchanged and supports OSCE Minsk Group efforts aimed
at achieving a peaceful and admissible olution for both parties on the
basis of 3 principles of Helsinki Declaration 1975: non-use of force,
territorial integrity and people’s right to self-determination.
As the German Embassy told ArmInfo, the proposal on the decision
made by the Bundestag External Relations Commission about the draft
resolution submitted by the Social-Democratic Party of Germany and
Christian-Democratic Union is similar to the German Government’s
position.
In addition, the draft resolution points out that both parties should
implement the resolutions earlier adopted on the Karabakh problem in
UN, EU and OSCE.
The German Embassy denied the information that the given draft
resolution contains a provision that Armenian troops should be
withdrawn from Nagorno-Karabakh and supports the territorial integrity
of Azerbaijan.
However, its includes a provision suggesting that Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict should be settled within EU frames through the mediation of
Russia, the USA and Turkey.
