HEADS OF CIS SECURITIES MARKET REGULATORY BODIES TO MEET IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, May 19. /ARKA/. The CIS Council of the Heads of government
agencies in charge of the securities markets is to open its 9th
meeting in Yerevan on May 19.

The press service of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) reports that
the Council is to discuss the situation on the CIS securities markets,
implementation of the Council’s previous recommendations and issues
of tempering the negative impact of the global financial crisis.

The participants in the meeting will consider a comparative analysis
of laws of the CIS member-states regulating the collective investment
sectors, as well as the international experience in preventing
machinations and illegal use of insider information.

The Council was formed by the CIS Heads of Government in 2003. At
present the Council includes representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia,
Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and
Ukraine. The primary task of the Council is economic integration of
the CIS member-states in the securities market, ensure cooperation
in forming international standards of securities market management,
create conditions for further liberalization of capital flow in the
CIS member-states, ensure effective protection of investors’ rights
and effective supervision over the securities market.
