ARMENIAN SECURITY COUNCIL DISCUSSES NEW NUCLEAR POWER UNIT’S CONSTRUCTION

Yerevan, 20 May: Programme for a new nuclear power unit construction
in Armenia was discussed by the National Security Council of Armenia
headed by President Serzh Sargsian on Tuesday [19 May].

As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Armenian
president, Armenian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen
Movsisyan presented the current stage of power unit construction at
National Security Council session.

Noting the importance of new nuclear power unit construction in
the context of providing energy security of Armenia, as well as
of medium-term and long-term development of economy, the National
Security Council considered all stages of programme realization – from
technical-economic justification to operation of the new power unit.
