Russia will provide a U.S. $500 million 15-year loan to Armenia at
an annual interest rate of 3% over Libor this week, Russian Deputy
Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said late Tuesday,
ITAR-TASS reported.

The agreement to provide the loan, which has a 5-year grace period,
was signed on May 20 by Kudrin and Armenian Finance Minister Tigran
Davtyan.

Armenia plans to use the funds to stimulate the development of
the country’s economy, as well as finance infrastructure projects
and support the development of small- and medium-sized businesses,
according to earlier reports.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
