GEORGIAN OPPOSITION KEEPS ITS PROMISE

Last night Georgian pro-opposition figures held protest, closing
temporarily one of the country’s mainline railroads. Earlier,
thousands of people in Tbilisi held meeting in which opposition
promised to resort to more radical methods for pushing President
Saakashvili out of office. Tuesday evening, the opposition decided
to block the railway mainline near Borzhomi station. They took such
decision after visiting the Georgian Patriarch who called on them
to start dialogue for avoiding further exacerbations. Thereafter,
pro-opposition figures headed to government building. In a meeting
attended by over 70 thousand people, they declared of their intention
to block railroads, highways, and probably, the way to the airport.
