Armenia’s trade turnover with EU $328.7mln in Jan-Apr 2009
YEREVAN, May 31. /ARKA/. Armenia’s trade turnover with the European
Union (EU) totaled US $328.7mln ` an annual decrease of 44.8%.
The RA Statistical Service reports that the EU’s share in Armenia’s
total trade turnover was 30.4% during the period under review.
Armenia’s exports to the EU totaled US $82.4mln (about 46.9% of the
country’s total exports) ` an annual decrease of 57.6%. Armenia’s
imports from the EU totaled US $201.8mln ` a decrease of 41.9% or 22.6%
of Armenia’s total imports. Armenia’s imports from the countries of
origin totaled US $246.4mln ` an annual decrease of 38.7%.
Specifically, Armenia’s trade turnover with Germany totaled US $82mln
(7.7%), followed by Italy (3.5%), Bulgaria (3.1%), Belgium (2.3%),
France (2%) and Holland (2%).
In January-April, 2009, Armenia’s foreign trade turnover decreased by
30% as compared with the corresponding period last year and totaled US
$1,069.1mln. Exports totaled US $175.6mln and imports US $893mln. `0–
