/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Azerbaijan will not sign CIS Energy Council’s `road
map’ because it’s not a State Party to the CIS Treaty on Common Energy
Market, Azerenergy JSC Vice President Marlen Askerov said during CIS
Energy Council’s 35th session organized in Baku.
`Azerbaijan does not have to sign the agreement because it’s already
prepared for creating such market,’ Askerov said.
Azerbaijan is ready to sign the environmental monitoring agreement,
but the word market should not be included in the Council’s decision
on road map, he added.
During the session, parties also proposed that electric energy
ecological monitoring be conducted for 2008.
The 2007 monitoring on the realization of environmental road map was
conducted among 7 member states. Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Georgia and
Armenia refused to participate in monitoring. The results have already
sent to Euroelectric, day.az reports.
