Another "Constructive" Meeting

ANOTHER "CONSTRUCTIVE" MEETING

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with his Azeri counterpart
Ilham Aliev today at the "Baltic Star" hotel in St. Petersburg.

The meeting marked the fifth of the meetings for the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict settlement negotiations.

Participating in the first half of the meeting were Armenian and Azeri
Foreign Ministers Edward Nalbandyan and Elmar Mammedyarov, OSCE Minsk
Group Co-Chairs Yuri Merzlyakov, Matthew Bryza and Bernard Fassier,
as well as the OSCE acting president’s personal representative Anjey
Kasprshik, after which the meeting continued in a one-on-one format.

The two and a half hour long talks were followed by talks in a wide
format. The meeting of the two presidents was held in a constructive
environment and the sides agreed to progress in the negotiations
process.

The Armenian and Azeri Foreign Ministers were assigned to continue
to work towards agreement on approaches of both sides and organize
the next meeting of the Armenian and Azeri presidents.

Serzh Sargsyan will also meet with this Russian counterpart Dmitri
Medvedev on the sidelines of his working visit to St. Petersburg. A
dinner for the presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan is also
foreseen and tomorrow Serzh Sargsyan will participate in the 13th
international economic forum to be held in St. Petersburg.

The delegation led by President Serzh Sargsyan will return to Yerevan
tomorrow, as reported by the presidential press service.
