measures, Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin said when opening
the 23rd session of EurAsEC Interstate Council in Moscow on Tuesday,
ArmInfo special correspondent to Moscow reported.
‘Despite the complicate economic background, we do not slow down
integration processes. We intend to use all the privileges of mutual
integration. We should combine efforts for anti-crisis measures’, V.
Putin said. He highlighted that the Interstate Council will adopt a
series of important decisions on June 9. In particular, EurAsEC states
have progressed 95% in coordination of tariff policy. ‘Today we are
going to discuss some additional details’, the premier explained. ‘I’d
like to mention that the initiative of speeding up the formation
of the customs union belongs to President of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev,
who believes it possible completing the basic procedures till January
1 2010’, he said. ‘We have launched an active work to fulfill this
proposal. I should say that in the Byelorussian dimension we have
progressed more. Over the last months Russia and Kazakhstan have
carried out significant work. I am sure this task is within our powers
and today’s meeting will contribute to implementing these plans’,
the Russian premier said.
