YEREVAN, JUNE 9, NOYAN TAPAN. Receiving Vice President of France
Telecom Orange company Olaf Swantee and Director General of Orange
Armenia Bruno Dutois on June 9, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
welcomed the entrance of this company into the Armenian market and
expressed confidence that it will give a new quality to Armenian-French
economic cooperation. He underlined that the activities of the French
company will help to liberalize even more the telecommunication market
and may form a good basis for development of other sectors of the
country’s economy.
As NT was informed by the RA presidential press service, O. Swantee
restated their obligation to provide high quality services and ensure a
fast Internet and phone connection in line with modern requirements. He
spoke about Orange Armenia’s programs and the work on infrastructures
of the company, noting that everything possible is being done so that
by late 2009 the company will be fully prepared to deliver services
to the population of Armenia. In his words, in 2009 the company plans
to invest 80 million dollars with the aim of operating not only in
