Iran is scheduled to host the Armenian orchestra which will present
the Russian composer Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 at Vahdat Hall
in Tehran.

Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 will be presented July 1-3, Fars
news agency reported on Saturday.

This is the first time Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 will be
presented in Iran.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) was a Russian composer of the
Romantic era. He wrote some of the most popular concert and theatrical
music in the current classical repertoire, including the ballets Swan
Lake and The Nutcracker, the 1812 Overture, his First Piano Concerto,
several symphonies, and the opera Eugene Onegin.

The Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23 was composed by
Tchaikovsky between November 1874 and February 1875. It was revised in
the summer of 1879 and again in December 1888. It is considered one of
the most popular of Tchaikovsky’s works and among the best known of
all piano concerti.
