ASMA ASSAD: ARMENIANS OF SYRIA HAVE NATURALLY INTEGRATED INTO COUNTRY’S LIFE

YEREVAN, JUNE 19, NOYAN TAPAN. On the initiative of the First Lady
of Syria Asma Assad, a meeting-discussion with CEO of the Hayastan
All-Armenian Fund Ara Vardanian took place on June 18.
At the request of Asma Assad, the structure, practices and best
experience of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund were presented. The meeting
participants also informed her on those mechanisms of fund-raising
organization and work coordination, whose use allows today to allocate
the resources and efforts of the Armenians spread all over the world
for solution of numerous problems in homeland.
According to Asma Assad, about 18 million Syrians currently live
in Syria, another 15 million residing in other countries. She said
that the compatriots often express an intention to invest in the
economy of their country, and a body like the Hayastan All-Armenian
Fund can play a great role in Syria regarding this issue. Asma Assad
stated with satisfaction that the Armenians of Syria have naturally
integrated into the country’s life.
According to a press release of the Hayastan Fund, the meeting was
attended by the First Lady of Armenia Rita Sargsyan, the spouse of RA
Foreign Minister Natalia Nalbandian, persons in charge of the Fund’s
Programs and PR Units.
